Yoga for low back pain workshop

Amy Erickson, RYT will provide this excellent workshop for low back pain on June 15th from 7-8:30pm for only $20!
Here is an excerpt from Amy's description of this upcoming workshop offered at Green Dragon.
"Anyone who has had back pain, whether short or long term, knows that it can affect every aspect of your life. Federal health experts say most Americans will eventually experience back pain severe enough to interrupt work, school, or the activities of daily living. Among the best remedies for back pain are stretching and strengthening the abdomen and other core muscles that support the back. Yoga stretches tendons, ligaments and muscles, and makes a larger space for the nerves of the back.
The low back pain workshop is designed for all levels and no prior exposure to yoga is required. Workshop participants will use pranayama (breath work), meditation and yoga poses designed to relax, relieve pain and strengthen the body. The workshop consists of lecture and yoga practice. Participants will leave with handouts to continue their practice at home.
Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a notebook and pen, yoga mat, and water. Please eat a light meal one and a half to 2 hours before the workshop.
Pre-registration and payment are required. Be sure to register early to ensure you spot!!"

I am very excited that Amy is offering this workshop. It has been my experience that there is no one thing that will make us achieve health. We need to employ many good things in our life to achieve and maintain balance and health. With back pain, it may very well be that we need acupuncture, yoga, chiropractic and some lifestyle modifications. All these things can keep us vital deep into our aging years, or help us recover from injury and disease states.
